As a major manufacturer and supplier of polythene film we recognise our responsibility to minimise the direct and indirect impact of our day to day operations upon the environment.
It is therefore our commitment to:
- Continually improve our environmental performance by setting objectives and targets and implementing a management system to audit and review performance.
- Prevent pollution through effectively managing our significant environmental impacts.
- Work with our customers to reduce the environmental impact of our products.
- Comply with all relevant environmental legislation and other requirements to which the organisation subscribes.
- Improve the environmental impact of our operation by reducing energy use, minimising waste and controlling noise.
- Reduce production waste through improving operating efficiencies and through the use of recycled materials where practicable.
- Ensure all waste and effluent is disposed of in a safe and responsible manner.
- Provide information and training to our employees, which is relevant to their role, on the environmental effects of our activities, and enlist their support in improving our environmental performance.
- Work towards the achievement of an ISO 14001 certified Environmental Management System.
- Make our Environmental Policy and Policy Statement available to customers and other interested parties upon request.
- Review our Environmental Policy and Policy Statement annually, unless our activities change significantly, in which case it will be reviewed as appropriate.
This statement is issued to demonstrate the commitment of Britton Taco to minimise the environmental impact of its operations.
